Each summer, Lexden hosts the ‘Summer Fun Leagues’ which are designed to be fun and a great way to meet other squash and racketball players.

A signup sheet is available through April and May, where all those who put down to play are then added to one of the 8 teams. The players are of all abilities and the teams have over 10 players as some players will be unavailable to make some of the 7 dates in June – September, which gives the team captains a chance to pick everyone and hopefully enough players available for each match.

The matches are squash, racketball and there is one match of doubles, where the rules are explained and goggles available for those who haven’t played before.

For all squash games, there are 3 games. The first game starts 0-0. The person who loses the first game has a 3 point lead for the second game. If they also lose the second, then they have a 6 point head start in the final game. If the players are 1 game all after the second game, then the starting score re-sets to 0-0.

Food is provided on each match night and there is a sub’s fee of £5 per person. Matches start at 6.40pm.

There are 7 match nights followed by the finals night, which includes the big ‘shoot out’.
