Aerobics & Gym at Lexden
Our newly refurbished gym here at Lexden is open to all. We are a family friendly gym and have a wide variety of members here. From super fit squash players, to grandparents who want to do some exercise whilst being social. We run a great deal of classes which are aimed at an assortment of members. This includes intense workouts, spinning classes, Pilates, Water Workouts, and more.
Gym & Fitness Classes
A fun, heart-pumping workout on state of the art spin bike. Led by certified instructors motivated to help you have fun and achieve your goals.
Pilates
This class concentrates on core strength, flexibility, with good posture and alignment. Gentle and effective. Suitable for all ages and abilities.
Circuit Training
Combining strength, balance, cardio, and coordination, circuit training is a complete body challenge. This is definitely not for the faint hearted.
Step
One of most popular fitness classes, Step is a class for all levels and abilities. You can choose to work harder by simply using a higher step.
Legs, Bums & Tums
This is a low-impact toning class which is aimed at those hard-to-reach areas. Suitable for all ages and levels from beginer to advanced.
Step circuit
Step circuit is a vigorous cardio workout that incorparates interval resistance work by using steps, bands and hand-weights. Open to all ages & abilities.
HIIT
High Intensity Interval Training is a full on workout with burts of intesnse activity switched with lighter activity in between. Excellent for high calorie burn.
Body Sculpt
A really pumping class. This uses hand weights to overload your muscle groups in order to tone, define, and sculpt your body. Suitable for all ages and abilities.
Metabolic Conditioning
A 40 minute session with an extremely high work rate throughout your whole body. Work to improve both aerobic and anaerobic systems in this ultimate workout.
Water Workout
A workout in the water offers less strain on the joints during a great all-over workout. It is ideal for all ages and abilities. Non-swimmers are also welcome.
How to enroll at Lexden
To be enrolled in the gym, you’ll need to arrange a one-hour appointment with one of our gym instructors, for a fitness assessment. Your assessment will take 1/2 hour, and is free-of-charge. You will then have a personal fitness programme created for you, so you can commence your workout regime. A follow-up appointment can be made if you feel you need it.
What Should I Do?
- Do not eat/drink or smoke for at least two hours beforehand
- Wear shorts and T-shirt
- Do not exercise before the assessment
How Can The Assessment Help Me?
- It indicates that you are not at risk from medical restrictions during exercise
- It allows you to monitor your progress
- It enables the instructor to create an effective programme especially for your requirements
